Rudi works to advance the Shriver Center’s advocacy and policy initiatives in Springfield as the Senior Policy Manager. She brings eight years of state government experience to her role. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Journalism and Political Science from Bradley University in 2007, Rudi worked in former Lt. Governor Pat Quinn’s Office in Springfield on an economic revitalization program called Illinois Main Street where she traveled throughout Illinois teaching towns in the program how to promote downtown by selling and marketing what downtown offers visitors, shoppers, investors, and new businesses. After two years in the Lt. Governor’s Office she went on to work for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation as their Division of Banking Legislative Liaison. She worked successfully with the Illinois General Assembly for six years to pass Department initiatives. While at the Department she was part of the Governor’s Mortgage Relief Project, which offered property owners assistance in reworking their mortgages to prevent foreclosure. Prior to joining the Shriver Center in October 2019, Rudi worked at the Greater Chicago Food Depository as their Advocacy and Communications Associate Manager. At the Food Depository she handled the communications and marketing efforts for several child nutrition programs.
