About Our Courses

The Shriver Center’s extensive course catalog addresses the full range of advocacy, management, and leadership skills that legal aid lawyers and staff need to successfully represent their clients. Working closely with dedicated faculty volunteers—experienced legal aid attorneys and other national experts in their fields—we design and deliver high-quality, practical training programs that reinforce legal aid values and visions and reflect standards of practice put forth by the American Bar Association Standards for the Provision of Civil Legal Aid.

A Laddered Curriculum

The Shriver Center’s training curriculum builds upon a progression of courses through which equal justice lawyers and staff develop mastery as advocates for justice. Whether you are an experienced advocate or new addition to the equal justice field, Shriver Center courses offer a skills-based, relevant learning and growth opportunity.
